What Virtual Healthcare is

A membership that gives a worker and their household a way to reach doctors and everyday care without going through a waiting room or a claim. It is not insurance, and it does not replace a health insurance policy. If someone has no insurance, this is how they see a doctor. If they have insurance but still pay full price for an ordinary visit, this is the cheaper way to get seen.

What businesses ask before they offer it.

Is this health insurance?

No, and we are careful never to describe it that way. It is a membership for virtual care. It does not replace a health insurance policy and it will not cover a hospital stay. What it does is make everyday care reachable, which for someone with no insurance is the difference between seeing a doctor and not.

What does it cost the business?

Nothing. Most businesses simply tell their team it exists and the worker enrolls and pays directly. Some choose to cover it as a perk, and some subsidize part of it. All three happen, and none of them are required.

Do we have to set anything up?

No. There is no payroll connection, no integration and no employer software. This is the simplest thing we offer to turn on, because there is nothing to turn on.

Who counts as household?

One membership covers the worker and the people they live with, at every level, rather than charging per person. The precise definition is confirmed at enrollment.

What if someone already has insurance?

It still gets used, and often more than you would expect. Plenty of people have insurance that still leaves them paying full price for an ordinary visit, so a call that costs nothing is the cheaper route for everyday things.

Is everything free once they are a member?

Doctor visits, dermatology and mental health visits cost nothing per visit. Lab testing is the exception and carries a consultation fee plus the cost of the labs, which are discounted. We would rather say that plainly than have someone discover it later.

Unlimited access to board certified physicians, anywhere in the United States, at any hour. They can diagnose a wide range of everyday conditions, put a treatment plan together, prescribe medication where appropriate, and follow up afterwards. Visits run by phone or video, and most members are speaking to someone within about fifteen minutes.

Board certified dermatologists for minor skin conditions, without the wait or the cost of an in person visit. Consultations run by phone or video, and members can upload images through a secure portal so the doctor has something to look at. Available at any hour, anywhere in the United States, with follow ups when they are needed.

Mental health support

No cost per visit, unlimited use

Licensed behavioral health clinicians for assessment, diagnosis, consultation and short term therapy, over live video. Sessions are private and there is no cap on how often a member uses them.

Prescription and pharmacy savings

Lower cost prescriptions

Around 400 of the most commonly prescribed generics at five dollars, and thousands more starting at ten dollars or less. Members pick up at a local pharmacy or use home delivery with free standard shipping.

Two further routes exist for expensive medication. Name brand drugs can be shipped from licensed pharmacies in Canada, often at a fraction of the domestic price. And an income based assistance program helps members apply to manufacturers, foundations and public bodies for help with the cost.

Healthcare concierge

Available at any hour

A healthcare liaison who works on the member's behalf. They book appointments, get hold of physicians, research what a procedure should cost, and argue the member's corner when something needs arguing. Member services handle account questions and point people to the right level of care.

Lab testing

Twenty five dollars per consultation, plus the cost of the lab work

Private lab testing across more than 5,000 locations nationwide. A physician orders the test, and the member can speak to one afterwards about what the results mean and what to do next. Discounts of up to 60 percent off published pricing. The consultation fee and the lab cost are the member's to pay.

Wellness coaching

No cost, by phone or video

Nutritionists, personal trainers and life coaches, from home. Coaching is accountability led rather than one off, and covers the things people usually try to change alone.

Concierge supported

Imaging prices vary enormously and quality is hard to compare from the outside. The concierge team finds well rated imaging centers at competitive prices and points members at them, whether it is an MRI, a CT scan or something else.

Medical bill negotiation

Bills of 750 dollars and above

Medical advocates negotiate directly with hospitals and providers on the member's behalf, aiming for a lower bill and terms they can actually manage. Every bill is reviewed first for coding errors, duplicate charges and anything excessive.

Medical bill financing

Available after a bill has been negotiated

Once a bill has been negotiated down, members can be connected to financing through third party lenders. The negotiators help members through that process. Patch Systems does not provide this financing and is not the lender.
